An Easy Walk Beneath the Trees

The 2.8-mile trail is easy in difficulty, making it perfect for a relaxed outing. The gentle terrain allowed us to slow down, enjoy the scenery, and listen for birds throughout the forest.

The Evergreen Trail winds through a magnificent old-growth forest, where towering trees create a cool and peaceful atmosphere. Every section of the trail felt calm, with the sounds of birds replacing the noise of everyday life.

A Trail Made for Slowing Down

One of the things we enjoyed most about this hike was its relaxed pace. Without any difficult climbs, we had plenty of opportunities to stop, listen to the sounds of the forest, and appreciate the small details that make old-growth woodlands so special.

Chickadees All Around

We saw a lot of Chestnut-backed Chickadees during the hike, and they seemed to be everywhere we looked. Their constant activity and cheerful calls made them one of the stars of the day.

A Special Family Moment

One of our favorite sightings came when we watched a fledgling Chestnut-backed Chickadee being fed by one of its parents. It was a wonderful glimpse into the busy nesting season and one of those moments that makes birdwatching so rewarding.

Wrens and Thrushes

Many Pacific Wrens filled the forest with their energetic songs, while a couple of Swainson's Thrushes quietly moved through the understory.

Familiar Faces Along the Trail

We also spotted a few American Robins searching for food along the trail, along with a Western Flycatcher patiently perched as it watched for passing insects.

Between the towering forest, abundant birdlife, and the unforgettable moment of watching a parent chickadee care for its young, the Evergreen Trail became one of our favorite hikes from our Washington trip.
