This past Saturday, we decided to explore the Barnett Ranch Preserve Trail in Ramona, California. Known for its scenic views and variety of wildlife, this 3.8-mile, easy trail promised a relaxing yet fulfilling morning hike. With clear skies and warm November sunshine, the day couldn’t have been more perfect for our adventure.

The trail opened up to a landscape filled with rolling hills, dotted with sturdy oaks and brush. The golden light of the morning sun cast a beautiful glow over the area, making everything feel vibrant and alive. We took our time on the well-maintained path, enjoying the tranquil beauty around us and keeping an eye out for any bird activity in the bushes and trees.

One of the most exciting moments of the hike came when we spotted a Loggerhead Shrike. It was our first time ever seeing one, and we were thrilled to observe it perched high, scanning its surroundings.
